CSI (Crime Scene Investigation):
The Case of the Missing Masterpiece

Future crime solvers and forensic detectives will form a team of sleuths in the CSI (Crime Scene Investigation): The Case of the Missing Masterpiece strand. Students will apply science-based detective skills, use chemistry concepts to solve crimes and develop logical thinking strategies to unlock clues in a fictional case. Students will explore the important distinction between evidence and inference, connect facts to unravel clues, apply the skills of a forensic scientist to set up experiments and use observation and inquiry to ultimately crack the case.

In addition to the CSI Strand, all students participate in The Leadership Strand: Stepping Forward as a Leader. The Leadership Strand is the cornerstone of the NYSP experience. Daily interactive learning activities present scholars with guided practice and individual application in small team settings. The important concepts and skills introduced lay the groundwork for growth and personal development in five key leadership areas: Teambuilding, Character Development, Communication, Problem-Solving and Goal Setting.
